In the role, the Manager will support the Theatre's leadership and Senior Vice President of Development to reach annual philathropy goals. The McCallum Theatre is a 1,127-seat theatre and concert venue located in Palm Desert, CA.  Since its inception in 1988, the McCallum has operated as a nonprofit organization, with more than 400 volunteers serving as ushers and other staff during performances.  the McCallum enjoys a reputation as one of the finest performing arts venues in the United States.

Job Description

In May 1973, a group of Coachella Valley business, education and cultural leaders organized as Friends of the Cultural Center, Inc., and committed themselves to the creation of a state-of-the-art performing arts center.  Their vision was to enhance and enrich the lives of desert residents by making the performing arts available to as many people as possible.  

 

Vision became a reality in January 1988 when the McCallum Theatre was founded with the mission to provide Coachella Valley residents with a world-class performing arts center to serve its unique desert community.  The Theatre is acclaimed as one of the finest performing arts centers in the nation and regularly tops national and international sales charts, and is a Pollstar World Top 50 Theatre in recognition of its substantial ticket sales, a significant achievement given its market and 1,127 seat capacity.  With a rich history, the Theatre enjoys a reputation for hosting some of the world’s top entertainers and performing artists.

 

Along with ticket sales which contribute 60% to funding operations, private donations are critical elements to the success of the Theatre’s programming, and innovative community educational programs. In one of the wealthiest seasonal communities in the nation, McCallum enjoys steady support from its patrons and sponsors. It aspires to secure major and principal gift level funding to secure operations and programming, and to further engage the thousands of philanthropists enjoying the arts, to ensure the Theatre’s financial health and well-being. McCallum seeks a Manager of Major Gifts, to identify, qualify, and solicit prospective donors with the capacity and inclination to give.
